Position reports to the Director Strategic Purchasing and Supplier Development. Experience in packaging procurement with glass paper and plastic a plus. Responsible for cost and value for commodity, materials and services utilized at facility. Negotiate and manage agreements associated with the acquisition of commodity. Continually improves the company procurement activities in order to achieve lowest possible cost and greatest value for materials and services purchased. • Negotiate contracts and supply agreements from Domestic and International sources of supply for all purchases. • Investigate and evaluate new sources of supply. Obtain information regarding specification and request for quotations from potential alternate sources. • Analyze market data supply demand and price trends. • Develop and recommends new sources of supply for materials and services. • Manages sourcing strategies for both cost reduction and containment.
Requirements: 2-5 years prior purchasing experience. Prior experience in production and inventory control logistics or distribution would be helpful. American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or National Association Purchasing Management (NAPM) would be helpful. Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M) is a plus. ay consider someone with food or beverage purchasing experience.)
