Create tools to assist the interaction between Sales and Marketing and the Demand Management staff. Streamline the information flow. Lead company Sales and Operations Planning process that supports a one-number collaborative company forecast risk analysis and operational execution that drives company profitability.
Manage the forecasting element of the Demand Management department. Serve as liaison between the Demand Management group Operations Fields Sales Brand and Trade Marketing and Finance to support one-number collaborative planning and forecasting. Provide executives and others with forecast and historical data.
The Forecasting lead will creates implement and provide business solutions that drive collaborative planning processes and forecast accuracy. • Achieve results and brings out the best in people. • Establish job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department’s strategy operating plan and short-term objectives. • Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives • Maintaining two way dialogue with direct reports on work and results. • Interpreting and ensuring Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others. • Collaboratively creating development plans and coaching individuals in achieving them. • Working within the people management systems in the Company to develop others (performance management rewards and selection process) • Creating an energizing work environment that supports the Company’s high performance culture while ensuring an efficient and flexible organization. • Analyzes procedures and provides recommendations to improve forward planning in order to maintain short term (monthly quarterly and annual) and long term (three to six years) forecasts and provide a solid foundation for the three-year plan. • Works with IT to manage Demand Management data bases required for analyzing interfacing to other corporate data bases and reporting required in the Demand Management process. • Secures resources for department’s areas of responsibility. Serves as liaison between Demand Management and other functional areas. • Controls and manages the flow of information into and out of the department. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Requires five to eight years experience in demand planning in a packaged goods/consumer products environment. • Exposure to statistical analysis and analytical tools is also required. • Must include some supervisory experience. Competent knowledge of forecasting technology and the supply chain process • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities • Comprehensive knowledge of statistical data and must be able to translate it into practical business applications • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills also required • An understanding of inventory analysis and management and production planning • Excellent skills in spreadsheet and data base software • General office environment ability to sit for long periods of time. • Ability to move about an office. • Environment: Exposure to disagreeable elements is negligible. Must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others. Supervisory: Has direct supervisory responsibility for one to five employees.
• EDUCATION: A four year college or university degree or its equivalent, MBA is strongly preferred. APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification is preferred or comparable work-related experience.
