The position is highly collaborative and interacts with other library staff to ensure public access, resolve complex problems, train staff, monitor and perform special projects.
Help in the initial stages of product implementations as working a member of the Implementation Services Team to develop new approaches to training for all the E-Products used in corporate librarians, trainers , colleges and libraries. Coordinate the ordering, renewal, receipt, payment, check-in, claiming, bibliographic maintenance, weeding, and binding of serials of all formats.
Work with colleagues to improve training materials distributed worldwide. Develop, deliver, and train staff on new and old software products.
• Perform initial software configurations on customer servers and provide first line support to customers during the training phase of implementation. • Assist customer in initial loading of data into software products. • Advise customers on configuration/setup of software products based on local environment and needs. • Analyze and troubleshoot customer issues and requests during training phase of implementation. • Perform QA for new software releases and versions. • Review and contribute to documentation packages for customers. • Train customers on-site by internet and by phone. • Develop training materials and methodologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of training. • 25-50% travel.
Requirements: • Background in Library And Information Science • Ability to manage several projects concurrently including initial data analysis project implementation and post implementation analysis and support • Strong interpersonal skills and both oral and written communication skills, data analysis and troubleshooting • Experience in developing and providing training both face-to-face instruction and Web-based and UNIX and/or Oracle • 5+ years experience in a library or information service environment
• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree mandatory; Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science or equivalent highly desirable
