The Budget Analyst will assist the Deputy Director of finance and forecasting with planning directing and coordinating department budgets, formulates and implements budgetary policies
Additional duties: - prepares complex reports and position papers for executive leadership relative to development - prepares appropriation adjustments requested from controlling board - reviews/analyzes and/or prepares numerous complex reports and position papers related to development submission and monitoring of agency's biennial budget to include cost allocation plans and contract review - reviews proposals related to biennial budget process and estimates/cost analysis thereof - prepares/generates reports and statistical/quantitative analysis - reviews and analyzes data and prepares complex reports and position papers for departmental executive leadership relative to development submission and monitoring of departmental biennial budget. Certifies expenditures in accordance with established budgets - assists in preparing planning implementing and monitoring/review of assigned allocations - prepares variety of state and/or federal financial reports/analysis (e.g. prepares and/or reviews projections/forecast models for program are - prepares variances between actual and expected expenditures through use of comparative data over time
- prepares regression models - directs/oversees preparation of and/or prepares models for long range projections of surpluses/deficits and determines appropriate action to be considered - prepares pass-through subsidy allocations - prepares monthly and quarterly reports and/or controlling board requests - reviews written narratives and explanations of costs methodologies for quarterly and annual cost allocation plan
- prepares projections and analysis for annual and biennial budgets - assists with developing agency's biennium budget and evaluating/monitoring of budget implementation to include periodic reporting to senior management) - conducts studies/review of unit activities to improve efficiency and ensure compliance. - attends professional meetings and training and reads publications and special reports for professional growth - completes special projects as assigned (e.g. plans conferences and team activities).
