Responsible for all Enterprise Midrange facility build-outs at core and regional data center locations, including design requirements planning provisioning and implementation for the midrange space. Determine space and capacity issues and work with various organizations to resolve quickly. Coordinate with Network Data Center Facilities Management (DCFM) and Corporate Real Estate in securing Enterprise Midrange requirements.
Design and build according to standards and industry best practices including data center space planning cabinet/cabling design power requirements heat and cooling requirements and network provisioning.
Some travel is required (+/- 20%).
Strong working knowledge and proven track record of data center physical design and implementations (best practices) including electrical UPS PDUs generators AC/DC plants fire protection systems copper/fiber cabling designs and specifications Liebert cooling CRACs HVACs disaster recovery methodologies network topologies security cabinet designs and floor plan space designs (CAD drawings).
Working understanding of Unix and Windows enterprise server architectures EMC and Hitachi enterprise storage systems network WANs including TCP/IP Gig-E and Fiber technologies.
Strong project management skills and effective communication skills Able to lead client's Midrange Engineering Data Center
Implementation objectives and goals within aggressive time frames.
Ability to understand highly complex technical problems and solutions. Ability to facilitate cross team collaboration to solve data center facility problems.
Demonstrable experience interacting with highly technical resources to implement appropriate measures and controls for production processes.
Domain experience in a midrange environment is desirable.
