Function as the lead in the Quality and Engineering Department. Acts as the coordinator of personnel development to continually upgrade the skills of teammates. Generate plans and issues assignments in order to meet company and plant objectives. Provide technical and supervisory leadership to quality and engineering team members.

Ensure best practices including new technologies with the objective of achieving best in class performance. The company is stable financially strong and well positioned in its industry. Facilitate continuous improvement through the implementation of Lean/six sigma methodologies and the establishment of standards procedures methods and performance metrics.

Represents the company as a customer contact regarding significant quality and engineering issues. Oversee the implementation of new product designs as well as validation of new processes equipment and testing methodology. Interpret explains and verifies compliance to customer requirements with regard to product modification processing validation testing and PPAP development and sign-off.

Direct Product and Process Engineering Development for new and current products. Direct the plant APQP process to include machine selection and capability sign-off. Oversee the resolution of chronic quality defects through achievement of process capacity with engineered solutions. Training of all plant personnel relative to quality requirements and standards.
Oversee the supplier quality process at the plant level. Communicate with Purchasing regarding supplied component quality issues. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Quality Data Reporting System.

Implement, maintain and annual recertification through a third party registrar. Develop capable lean production processes for new and existing business. Identify and implement cost effective automation and technology.

Geometric dimension and tolerance and part layout. Gauging jigs and fixtures Optical and air tools and gauges. Grinding and machining operations. Destructive and non-destructive testing techniques and equipment.

Solving and mistake proofing experience. Supervision of technical people. Engineering management experience Position requires 5 plus years of progressive supervisory experience in the Engineering discipline and related relevant quality experience preferably with an automotive OEM.

Experience in the Machining and/or related industry as well as Six Sigma and other lean manufacturing training. Blackbelt certification preferred.

Position will report to the Plant Manager and the Director of Engineering and Quality and will coordinate the activities of the engineering and quality compliance departments.
