Develop and implement a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.
Position will report directly to the Technical Director and is charged with developing and maintaining a system to assure that all products manufactured or purchased by the organization meet customer specifications achieve superior quality and reliability levels.
Provide direction and establish project priorities for the Senior Quality Engineer. Revise and update the quality control manual to incorporate statistical control programs. Develop and maintain a supplier quality index utilizing statistical control programs to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained. Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. Coordinate and approve all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes. Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel. Work closely with tank farm and batching personnel to ensure integrity in all batching processes.
Requirements: A Bachelor of Science degree is required preferably in Chemical Engineering. A Mechanical Engineering degree with Chemistry knowledge / experience may be considered. Qualified candidates will possess 3 to 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates with durable goods or packaged goods industry background are highly preferred. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
