The Production Control Manager will report to the COO and will be responsible for managing production planning scheduling material flow in plants for the company.

Will plan and organize staffing and managing the function of Production Control and Inventory Control areas. Provide Manufacturing and Customer Focus Teams with accurate scheduling information and adequate support resources. Accountability for shop support functions including housekeeping and safety using 5S and Lean Principles. Department budget and spending; Overtime for department staff; Implementation of new processes and methods.

Manage movement of raw or finished materials storage production scheduling and inventory control activities. Development of forecasts. Directs the scheduling of production for manufacturing – company has a number of products with extended lead times. Ensure Lean Production Flow. Provide project schedules for Customer Focus Teams group using Visual Manufacturing.

The performance of this position will be judged based on effective inventory control work center efficiencies on-time delivery percentages Priority Dispatch List execution percentage departmental non-conformance and meeting shipment targets.Emphasis  will be in the area of SCHEDULING and less on machining and fabrication. Degree Systems experience as it pertains to Scheduling and manufacturing.

REQUIREMENTS: ;

Minimum of 10 years of Production Control experience with solid production control 'systems' background and knowledge ''scheduling'' ideally in the area of machining/fabrication.

Ideal candidate will possess and APICS certification and have worked in a job shop low volume or possibly a high volume type company within one of the following industries: Aerospace; Aerospace Tooling; Heavy Industrial Commercial; Defense; Nuclear; Petro Chemical; Power Generation or Pressure Vacuum Vessels. This person will be adept at using Lean Manufacturing tools i.e. 5S Value Stream Mapping Six Sigma and Process Improvement.

Will also have demonstrated an ability to analyze and implement appropriate manufacturing systems i.e. ERP MRP QAD Oracle or SAP - company uses Visual Manufacturing. This person will also possess creative and unique scheduling skills with the ability to schedule items of an 'extended' period of time. In addition this person will also have a track record of accomplishments in: Increasing Production Capacity; Improving on-time delivery and Developing their people.

Will keep up to date on the latest in manufacturing technology specifically as it pertains to lean manufacturing principles and production control systems. They will have strong communication skills both written and verbal and be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. They will also have demonstrated strong supervisory and leadership skills.
