Perform analysis and interpretation of collected infection data investigate and provide surveillance of suspected outbreak infections. Planning implementation and evaluation of infection prevention measures, education of individuals about infection risk prevention and control, development and revision of infection control policies and procedures Assists with the management of infection prevention and control activities, and the provision of consultation on infection risk assessment prevention and control strategies.
Requirements: Five years of acute nursing experience Bachelors degree in Nursing or related science field required Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) or exam eligible (certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire) Current license by the state Board of Registered Nursing (RN) Current CPR recognition required Formal training and/or experience in infection control Formal training and/or certification in occupational/employee health desired Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines to include Joint Commission and OSHA regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection process and working knowledge of research methodologies and statistics Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally Proficient in Microsoft Windows Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Internet Explorer Access and Adobe Reader.
